Hu Residence reimagines the boundaries of domestic life within a compact footprint.

A continuous wooden volume forms the heart of the home, seamlessly integrating ceiling, walls, and storage into a singular architectural gesture. Rather than dividing space, it frames a sequence of experiences, guiding movement, shaping perspectives, and quietly supporting everyday rituals.

The design plays with moments of compression and release. Lower, more intimate thresholds give way to open and light-filled living areas, creating a subtle rhythm between enclosure and openness. As one moves through the residence, framed views unfold gradually, allowing the relationship between body, light, and space to shift from one moment to the next.
